Does the Library have textbooks?

Auraria Library has some textbooks for classes, but not all. You can search for textbooks the following ways:
1. Search Start My Research
Our library has some textbooks in our print collection, as well as some titles available online. The Start My Research tool on the library homepage searches for both.
- Start at our homepage and look for the Start My Research box. Select the "Books only" option under the search bar, enter the title of your textbook, and click Search.
- For print books, the search result will include a status indicator that tells you if it's available, a general library location such as "2nd Floor Book Stacks," and a call number (a series of letters and numbers that tells you where to find it on the shelf).
- Print books in our stacks will also display a "Find It" button. Click on this button to see a shelf number and map for where your book is located. If you'd like additional help finding it, just stop by the Ask Us Desk.
- For eBooks, the search results will read “Full Text Online.” Click that link to access an electronic version of the book. You may be taken to a Skyline Catalog page where you'll need to click "CONNECT TO RESOURCE."
- If you’re off-campus, you’ll be asked to login with your CCD, CU Denver, or MSU Denver username and password to access the full text of an eBook.
2. Search Course Reserves
Course Reserves is our collection of textbooks that are reserved by campus instructors and kept at the library’s Ask Us Desk. Most items check out for 2 hours, although some can be borrowed for 4 hours, 1 day, or 3 days. These books have a limited checkout time so everyone in a course has access to them, and the library provides photocopiers and scanners. 3. Check if Another Library Has a Copy
If we don’t have a book locally, we might be able to find another library that has a copy through Prospector or Interlibrary Loan. Follow the links for information on how to request items through either service.
